Location: This magnificent coastal eco-estate is situated near the town of Mossel Bay, which is along a scenic stretch of coast known as the Garden Route. Mossel Bay is situated approximately halfway between the coastal cities of Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. This area is well-known for its pristine and unspoilt beaches.
Description: The nature reserve: This reserve is 432 ha in extent, and has 2,5 km of coastal frontage. The farm has abundant game, such as zebra, springbuck, and other buck species, as well as a variety of bird species. The reserve has also maintained its natural indigenous flora (fynbos).
Entrance to the reserve is through a manned gateway, and the road from the gatehouse runs through the farm past wild game and bird hides, to the housing development at the coastal section of the reserve.
The houses: Each stand is approximately 2000mē. There are building regulations to preserve the elegant simplicity of this unique development. The architecture is Cape vernacular, with thatch roofs and natural cemcrete colours. Lighting is provided via solar panels, with other power sources being gas and silent generators.
All the properties have stunning sea views, and wooden walkways have been built across the fynbos and down to the beach. These sandy beaches are ideal for swimming and fishing. Cycling, walking and bird watching are other popular leisure activities.
There is a home-owner's association. Home owner's own an equal share of the reserve, but they have full title ownership of their stand and house.
Description of this house: This particular house is set at the top of a kloof, that runs all the way down to the sea. Buck and guinea fowl visit the house daily.
This house comprises the following: - 4 bedrooms - 3 bathrooms - lounge - dining room - open plan kitchen, with gas stove and scullery - 2 garages
Special architectural and decorative features in the house include: 3 braais (BBQs), fireplace, wood oven, pub, loft, special lighting, a skylight and riet ceiling.
This coastal house is perfect for anybody who wants to live in harmony with the natural surroundings to create a real feel of Africa.
